Teacher as Scholar

The characteristics listed under "Portfolio User C" are most indicative of the Teacher-Scholar -- the professional educator whose forum is the journal and whose domain is public presentation.

Spanning the boundaries of publication, presentation, and interactions, the Teacher-Scholar has the most comprehensive suite of portfolio artifacts. Showcase takes precedence over either Collecting or Working as this educator attempts to share ideas spanning a career in the field of education.

Interacting is key, and the use of technology by the Teacher as Scholar encompasses the most extensive suite of computer hardware and applications. Discussions with colleagues, demonstration of artifacts in a professional forum, and the pursuit of thinking and learning describe the Teacher-Scholar.

The Teacher-Scholar has the responsibility to give back to the discipline some of the expertise, knowledge, and dedication that has been received over the years. Sharing is paramount.
