1970’s and 1980’s For several decades science faculty were housed in and science courses were offered by the Department of Quantitative and Natural Sciences (QNS). The QNS Department included both of what is now the Mathematics and Science Departments. At this time all science courses were listed by the College as “natural science courses” and held the prefix NS.  During the 1970's and 1980’s the Natural Sciences faculty consisted of three full time members.  For most of the 1970’s and 1980’s, one of the full time science faculty members served as the Head of the QNS Department, Professor Felix (Phil) Defino.
